Ignác Viktorin Raab

The exhibition of a collection of 22 paintings depicting scenes from the missionary life of St. Francis Xavier by the Baroque painter Ignác Viktorin Raab (1715–1787) will take place in the Church of St. John of Nepomuk as a loaned exhibition from the Czech Museum of Silver. These canvases were originally intended to decorate the walls of the corridors of the Jesuit college in Kutná Hora and depict the journey of the Jesuit missionary to India and his apostolic activities in East Asia. The central theme of the narrated story is the miracles that Francis performed on his journey.
