Jan Poš
He studied at the Faculty of Art and Design of Jan Evangelista Purkyně University at the Department of Electronic Image in the progressive multimedia studio Time Based Media under the guidance of Daniel Hanzlík and Pavel Mrkus. In 2019 he completed an internship at Kunstuniversität Linz in the Time Based media studio. He is currently studying at the Sculpture 2 studio under Tomáš Hlavina at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. His current work deals with the relationship between real and virtual environments. He explores their mutual relationship and breaks the boundaries between them. To do this, he uses 3D computer programs, in which he creates various simulations that he further materializes in the real environment. Formally, his works are on the edge of sculpture, object and installation.
Surroundings v2
The site-specific installation titled Surroundings v2 is a technological tool that allows us to hear and see environmental phenomena that normally blend in with our surroundings. The multi-channel sound accentuates the sound of the urban landscape. The sound together with the light component reacts to the surrounding space. The viewer enters a portal that allows them to experience these phenomena through their own senses. The unique combination of sound and light opens up a new perspective on the ordinary urban environment. The installation itself creates a contrast between modern technology and the historic architecture of the Italian Court. The whole installation also includes an observation platform, which enhances the impression of an ongoing pseudo-research, consisting of observation and exploration. At the same time, this creates an illusion in which the viewers seemingly become part of the experiment. The installation was created in collaboration with Jan Vaniš and Andrej Kontra.
